2010 Better Ball

ELIGIBILITY: NCGA Associate Club members ONLY. Multi-members can only represent one club. No players under 18 years of age. A numeric handicap index listed on their club’s Master Report not to exceed 36.4 (men) or 40.4 (women) on the date of registration. NOTE: SIRS – One two-person team per area is eligible for sectional qualifying.

FORMAT: Four-Ball (Two-Person Better Ball). Qualifying - 18 holes. Championship - 36 holes, 18 holes per day. Play will be 90% (men) and 95% (women) of the course handicap using a maximum handicap index of 18.4 for calculation. All players with handicap indexes of 18.5 and above are eligible but must play to a maximum handicap index of 18.4. If partners’ course handicaps differ by more than 8 strokes, an additional 10 percent reduction will be applied to their course handicaps. One partner may represent the team for any part or all of a stipulated round for qualifying or the championship proper.

NUMBER OF ENTRIES: Clubs are entitled, but not required, to submit a specific number of players based on their active golfing membership on their January 1 Master Report.

FORMAT: Best two balls of four. Local Qualifying - 18 holes. 84 teams advance to sectional qualifying. Sectional Qualifying - 18 holes. 30 teams advance to the championship. Championship - 36 holes, 18 holes per day. Play will be 90% (men) and 95% (women) of their course handicap using a maximum handicap index of 18.4 for calculation. All players with handicap indexes of 18.5 and above are eligible but must play to a maximum handicap index of 18.4.

2010 ACNAC Information

Entries Close: August 6, 2010.  Qualifying Date: September 9, 2010.  Championship Dates: October 4-5, 2010.  Championship Sites: Poppy Ridge GC.  Entry Fee: $60 per player.  112 qualifying players will pay an additional $130 for the championship.

FORMAT:  Qualifying – 18 holes.  Championship proper – 36 holes (18 holes per day).  Players will receive 100% of their course handicap at all levels of play.
MAILING OF ENTRIES:  Clubs must submit all entries in a single packet.  If separate entries are received after the initial mailing from that club, the entry will be returned without action.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES:  Clubs are entitled, but not required, to submit a specific number of players based on their active golfing membership on their January 1 Master Report as shown below.

2 entries/players:  20 – 50 active golfing members
4 entries/players:  51 – 100 active golfing members
6 entries/players:  Over 100 active golfing members --- NASGA's club size!

FLIGHTS:  Flighting is optional at club qualifying.  Qualifying:  Not flighted.  Championship:  Players will be divided into three flights at the championship proper.
